Penguin Recruitment is pleased to be supporting a leading planning and development consultancy in their search for a Planning Consultant to join their established team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across the public and private sectors, supporting the delivery of planning applications, policy advice, and development strategy work within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

  • Support the preparation and submission of planning applications and supporting documents
  • Provide planning advice to clients on development proposals and planning strategy
  • Assist with planning appraisals, feasibility studies, and site assessments
  • Engage with local planning authorities, stakeholders, and project teams
  • Contribute to planning appeals, Local Plan representations, and policy reviews
  • Support senior colleagues in the delivery of complex planning projects

About You

  • A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
  • RTPI membership or working towards MRTPI status
  • Experience within a planning consultancy or local authority environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive and organised approach to managing workload
