We are working with a well-established consultancy in Leeds looking to bring on a Graduate Engineering Geologist to support their growing ground investigation and geotechnical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to kickstart their career, gain hands-on site experience, and develop within a supportive and experienced team.

The Role

As a Graduate Engineering Geologist, you will be involved in a wide range of site-based and office-based activities, supporting the delivery of ground investigation and geotechnical projects across the UK. You will gain exposure to all stages of projects, from site investigations through to reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with site investigations including trial pitting, borehole logging, and soil/rock sampling
  • Supervising drilling rigs and ensuring works are carried out safely and efficiently
  • Logging soil and rock in accordance with British Standards
  • Collecting and organising geotechnical and geoenvironmental data
  • Supporting the preparation of factual and interpretative reports
  • Liaising with contractors, clients, and internal teams
  • Ensuring health & safety procedures are followed at all times

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Strong interest in ground investigation and geotechnical engineering
  • Willingness to work outdoors and travel to sites when required
  • Good communication and report writing skills
  • A proactive and enthusiastic attitude to learning
  • Full UK driving licence (or working towards)
