We’re looking for a Geoenvironmental Engineer to join a growing team in Leeds, working on a range of projects across the residential, commercial and infrastructure sectors.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a few years of industry experience who wants to build on their site-based knowledge while taking on more responsibility for investigations, reporting and project delivery.

The role

You’ll be involved in a mix of site work and office-based duties, supporting projects from initial investigation through to assessment and remediation. The work will include:

  • Planning and carrying out Phase 1 desk studies and Phase 2 site investigations.
  • Supervising ground investigations, including soil and groundwater sampling.
  • Assessing ground contamination risks and interpreting laboratory results.
  • Preparing factual and interpretative reports, including preliminary risk assessments and generic quantitative risk assessments.
  • Supporting remediation strategies and validation works.
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, laboratories and other members of the project team.
  • Ensuring site works are completed safely and in line with relevant guidance and procedures.

What we’re looking for

  • A degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or a related subject.
  • Around 2-5 years’ experience in geoenvironmental consultancy or a similar role.
  • Experience with Phase 1 and Phase 2 investigations and contaminated land assessment.
  • Good report-writing skills and an understanding of UK contaminated land guidance.
  • A practical approach to problem-solving and confidence working both on site and in the office.
  • A full UK driving licence, with a willingness to travel to project sites when required.

What’s on offer

You’ll have the chance to work on varied projects, develop your technical skills and take on greater responsibility within an established consultancy environment. The role offers a good balance of site and office work, with opportunities for ongoing professional development and progression.
