Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be working with a specialist rural planning consultancy on the appointment of a Planner to join their friendly and expanding team in Knutsford. This is an exciting opportunity for a planning professional with an interest in the rural sector to contribute to a wide range of projects involving agricultural, equestrian, residential and diversification developments. The consultancy is well-established, with a strong client base across the North West and beyond.

The Role

As a Planner, you'll work closely with landowners, farmers, and rural businesses, preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals, undertaking site assessments, and offering strategic advice across the rural planning spectrum. You will be part of a small, supportive team with the opportunity to develop your technical skills, client-facing experience, and overall responsibility within the business.

What We're Looking For

  • A degree or master's in Town Planning or a related field
  • Relevant years of experience in planning, ideally with a rural or private sector focus
  • Strong understanding of the UK planning system
  • Confident communicator, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage your own workload and work as part of a team
  • MRTPI or working towards chartership preferred
