An established and highly respected multidisciplinary property and planning consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Principal Town Planner to join its growing team in Kettering. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious planning professional to step into a senior role within a collaborative and commercially focused environment, working across a diverse portfolio of projects throughout the UK.
The successful candidate will play a key role in leading planning projects, managing client relationships, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to the continued growth of the planning division.
The RoleAs Principal Town Planner, you will be responsible for:
- Managing a varied caseload of planning applications and appeals
- Providing strategic planning advice to a wide range of clients
- Leading projects across residential, commercial, rural and mixed-use developments
- Preparing and reviewing planning statements and supporting documentation
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders and consultants
- Supporting and mentoring junior planners
- Assisting with business development and team growth initiatives
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- MRTPI chartered status
- Significant experience within either consultancy or local authority planning
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Proven experience managing projects and client relationships
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach
- Full UK driving licence
