Full TimeCity of London, LondonPosted 10 minutes agoReturn to Job SearchPrincipal Geotechnical EngineerLocation: Central LondonSalary: 50,000-60,000 per annumThe OpportunityAn established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join its London team.This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across residential, commercial, healthcare, education, infrastructure and brownfield regeneration, providing technical expertise and delivering practical, cost-effective engineering solutions.The successful candidate will play a key role in leading geotechnical projects, managing technical delivery and supporting the development of junior engineers.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and deliver geotechnical engineering projects from initial site investigation through to detailed design.Oversee ground investigations, interpret geotechnical data and develop ground models.Prepare and review geotechnical reports, calculations and design recommendations.Undertake foundation design, retaining wall assessments, earthworks and ground improvement solutions.Assess geotechnical risks and develop safe, sustainable and cost-effective engineering solutions.Liaise with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams.Provide technical guidance, mentoring and support to junior engineers.Manage project programmes, budgets and technical deliverables.RequirementsA degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline.Strong experience in geotechnical engineering within a consultancy environment.Good knowledge of ground investigation, geotechnical design and soil mechanics.Experience in foundation design, ground modelling and geotechnical risk assessment.Excellent communication, technical report-writing and project management skills.Ability to manage projects and support the development of junior team members.Chartered status or working towards chartership would be advantageous.What’s on Offer?Competitive salary of 50,000-60,000, depending on experience.Opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of exciting engineering projects.Excellent career progression and professional development opportunities.Collaborative working environment within a multidisciplinary team.Central London office with excellent transport links.Apply NowIf you are an experienced geotechnical engineer looking for your next career move, this is an excellent opportunity to take on a senior technical role within a respected consultancy.
