We are looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a growing Ipswich office and play a leading role in delivering a diverse portfolio of geotechnical and geoenvironmental projects across the UK. The Role
- Managing geotechnical projects from inception through to completion
- Designing and supervising ground investigations
- Interpreting geotechnical data and producing high-quality technical reports
- Undertaking foundation, retaining wall, slope stability, and earthworks assessments
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and engineering geologists
- Liaising directly with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
- Preparing fee proposals and supporting business development activities
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards
Requirements
- Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline
- Typically 5+ years' experience within a geotechnical consultancy environment
- Strong understanding of UK geotechnical design standards and ground investigation practices
- Experience managing projects and client relationships
- Proficiency in geotechnical design software would be advantageous
- Excellent technical reporting and communication skills
- Working towards or holding Chartered status (ICE or Geological Society) would be beneficial
- Full UK driving licence
