Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Ecologist to join our client's team. The successful candidate will lead ecological surveys, manage projects, provide ecological advice to clients, and contribute to high-quality reporting. This is an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects across the Highlands while developing your career in ecological consultancy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and conduct ecological surveys and assessments across a range of habitats and species.
- Prepare high-quality ecological reports, including Environmental Impact Assessments and planning submissions.
- Advise clients on ecological requirements, mitigation strategies, and compliance with legislation.
- Manage and mentor junior ecologists and survey staff.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ecological legislation, best practice, and emerging survey techniques.
Requirements:
- Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in ecological consultancy or similar roles.
- Strong field survey skills across multiple species and habitats.
- Experience preparing reports for planning and regulatory submissions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
- Full driving licence (for travel across Highlands).
