Our client, an internationally prevalent consultancy is in need of an experienced individual to join their vibrant office in Manchester. Working on a variety of projects across the globe this role offers the right candidate fantastic opportunities to develop their career. The successful candidate will have worked as an acoustic consultant and will possess strong post qualification experience preferably within the environmental field.

Qualification

  • Degree or post-graduate qualification in an acoustics-related discipline

Experience

  • Membership of the Institute of Acoustics
  • Extensive and detailed understanding of Environmental Acoustics
  • Minimum of 2 years consultancy experience preferably within Environmental Acoustics
  • Be self-motivated, able to learn quickly and work independently to deadlines
  • Be able to write fluent and intelligible reports, placing a high emphasis on accuracy and consistency
  • Good communication and client liaison skills
  • Familiarity in using noise monitoring equipment

Duties

  • Carry out acoustic assessments, noise measurements and surveys and site inspections
  • Advise on architectural, MEP and structural design
  • Oversee and run acoustic modeling programmes
  • Liaise with consultants, engineers and architects
  • Project management
  • Writing high quality reports
  • Undertaking acoustic assessments in accordance with Building Regulations, Building Bulletins, British and International Standards
  • Assisting in business development
  • Producing Environmental Impact Assessments for large infrastructure projects

For this large scale multidisciplinary you will have the chance to work on a large range of projects including building acoustics and EIA's for a variety of developments such as rail and road schemes.
