Are you an Engineering Geologist looking to join a close-knit, specialist consultancy where you'll have the opportunity to work on technically challenging and exciting projects? Our client is a well-established geotechnical and geoenvironmental consultancy based in Guildford. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an Engineering Geologist to join an experienced team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive business where your work will have a direct impact, and you'll gain exposure to a diverse range of projects across the UK.

Working within a small, collaborative team, you'll be involved in every stage of ground investigation projects, from planning and site supervision through to reporting and client liaison. No two days are the same, with projects spanning residential, commercial, infrastructure and renewable energy developments.

The Role

  • Supervising ground investigation works, including boreholes, trial pits and site investigations.
  • Logging soil and rock to current industry standards.
  • Collecting soil, rock and groundwater samples.
  • Coordinating subcontractors and drilling crews on site.
  • Preparing factual and interpretative ground investigation reports.
  • Assisting with geotechnical assessments and foundation recommendations.
  • Liaising with clients, contractors and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with industry standards.

Requirements

  • Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology or a related Earth Science discipline.
  • Previous experience within ground investigation or engineering geology.
  • Strong soil and rock logging skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to work both on site and in the office.
