Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a highly respected and innovative Planning Consultancy as they look to appoint a Town Planner or Senior Town Planner into their thriving Bristol team. This consultancy has established a strong reputation for delivering insightful, solutions‑driven planning advice across both private and public sectors. With a team of over 50 professionals based across five UK offices, they combine deep planning expertise with a market‑leading Analytics & Research offering. Their work spans a variety of sectors including Strategic Land, Later Living, Regeneration, Retail, Leisure and more – all underpinned by a commitment to inclusivity, empowerment, and sustainable development.
The Opportunity: Due to a planned maternity leave, we are seeking a Town Planner or Senior Planner to join the Bristol office on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. With continued strong growth across the Strategic Land division, this role is expected to transition into a permanent opportunity for the right candidate. You will work across a diverse and influential strategic land portfolio, including:
- Site promotions
- Planning applications
- Planning appeals
- Residential schemes ranging from smaller applications through to major new settlements
- Strategic employment land promotion and associated planning submissions
This role offers the chance to contribute to major long‑term developments across the UK, working within a supportive, collaborative, and forward‑thinking team.
About You: We are keen to speak with Planners or Senior Planners who have experience in the promotion of strategic land, along with:
- A track record of delivering complex planning projects to agreed deadlines
- Strong report‑writing and written communication skills
- A proactive, motivated approach to developing your knowledge and professional capability
- A collaborative mindset, supporting wider team and business goals
