An exciting opportunity has come up for a Geo-Environmental Engineer to join a well-established ground investigation and environmental consultancy based near Crawley. This role offers the chance to work on a wide range of projects across residential, commercial and infrastructure developments, supporting clients through all stages of site assessment and remediation.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertaking Phase 1 Desk Studies and Phase 2 Site Investigations
- Logging soil and rock to current standards and supervising ground investigations
- Collecting and managing soil and groundwater samples
- Preparing factual and interpretive reports
- Conducting quantitative risk assessments (e.g. human health, controlled waters, ground gas)
- Liaising with clients, contractors and regulatory bodies
- Supporting remediation strategy design and validation
Requirements
- Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
- 1-4 years' experience within a geo-environmental or geotechnical consultancy
- Strong report writing and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Working knowledge of relevant UK guidance (e.g. BS10175, EA guidelines)
Desirable
- Experience with gas monitoring and risk assessment
- Membership (or working towards) with a relevant professional body
- Experience using HoleBASE or similar software
