My client, a large, well-respected, international Multidisciplinary Consultancy is searching for a Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant to join their growing team of engineering and design experts, in the bustling, diverse city of London.

Essential Criteria:

  • Extensive experience of producing Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies
  • Excellent working knowledge of relevant software packages, including InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, GIS, and others
  • Good knowledge of various industry standards and planning system, including flood-related policy, the NPPF, and the SuDS Manual
  • Recognition of flood- and drainage-related constraints and opportunities, with a view to applying these at a range of development sites
  • Experience of project management, and confidence in employing clear and concise reporting skills
  • Outstanding communication skills

It would also be beneficial for applicants for the role of Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant to have the following:

  • Some experience of stakeholder management and engagement
  • A demonstrable commitment to improving your knowledge and skills in the field
  • Good time management skills, and able to remain flexible and adaptable
  • Some knowledge of Tuflow, Flood Modeller, FEH or river restoration

As a Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant, you will be joining a growing team of dedicated engineering and design specialists, working on a number of varied, high-profile projects across the country and overseas. As you progress through your career, you will take on a range of different responsibilities, including the following:

  • Assist with the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies
  • Contribute to projects across the property, renewable energy, and aviation sectors
  • Oversee projects from early strategy development, throughout all other aspects of the process, through to successful implementation
  • Work with a variety of consenting regimes, including Town and Country Planning, Development Consent Orders, etc.
  • Work with the wider team, and external stakeholders, to design SuDS schemes, integrating strategies in the broader masterplan, and prepare planning reports
