We are looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a growing multidisciplinary consultancy in Exeter. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced geotechnical professional to take a leading role in delivering a wide range of infrastructure, residential, commercial, and renewable energy projects across the South West.
The successful Senior Geotechnical Engineer will join a highly regarded technical team and will be responsible for managing ground investigations, producing detailed geotechnical assessments, mentoring junior engineers, and developing strong client relationships. You will play a key role in project delivery from tender stage through to design recommendations and reporting.
Qualifications
- Have a degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
- Have several years of UK geotechnical consultancy experience
- Be experienced in managing and interpreting ground investigations
- Have strong knowledge of geotechnical design and reporting
- Be confident liaising with clients, contractors, and regulators
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Ideally be working towards or already hold Chartered status
Key Responsibilities
- Managing site investigations and supervising fieldwork
- Producing geotechnical interpretative reports and foundation recommendations
- Slope stability and earthworks assessments
- Mentoring graduate and junior engineers
