Requirements for the role of Geotechnical Monitoring Technician:

  • Experience within geotechnical, construction, surveying, or monitoring environments
  • Understanding of geotechnical and structural monitoring equipment
  • Ability to solve problems and work independently on site
  • Experience working outdoors in challenging environments
  • Strong communication skills and ability to complete detailed site reports
  • Good IT skills and confidence using monitoring software and data systems
  • Capable of physical work, lifting, carrying, and climbing
  • Full UK driving licence

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Installation and maintenance of geotechnical and structural monitoring equipment
  • Carrying out monitoring surveys using total stations, inclinometers, piezometers, crack gauges, and vibration monitors
  • Downloading, processing, and reviewing monitoring data
  • Conducting routine inspections and fault finding on instrumentation systems
  • Assisting with automated monitoring system installations
  • Producing accurate field records and technical reports
  • Liaising with engineers, site managers, and contractors on site activities
  • Ensuring all monitoring activities are completed in accordance with health & safety standards
  • Supporting project mobilisation and demobilisation activities
  • Travelling to various project sites as required
