This is a fantastic opportunity to join my client, a market-leading, well-respected Multidisciplinary Consultancy, known for lending their skills and expertise to a variety of projects, specialising in dewatering services. They are currently seeking a keen, skilled Hydrologist with extensive design experience within ground water and dewatering, who is willing to take on a number of challenging projects across the local region. You will be based near the beautiful, bustling city of Derby.

Responsibilities for the role of Hydrologist include:
- Partaking in projects from initial inception through to detailed design and implementation
- Undertaking groundwater impact assessments
- Producing conceptual hydrological and hydrogeological models
- Designing and assessing temporary/permanent dewatering systems
- Producing numerical and analytical groundwater models, in support of prospective designs
- Analysing groundwater-surface water interactions and impacts
- Preparing a number of technical documents, including technical reports, method statements, etc.
- Gathering and interpreting site investigation data and pumping test results
- Liaising with clients and other stakeholders across the public and private sectors
Required skills and experience for the role of Hydrologist include:
- UK Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, or a similar, relevant subject
- Extensive experience in groundwater and de-watering design, in a UK-based consultancy or local authority setting
- Substantial experience with the use of relevant software systems, e.g. MODFLOW, TUFLOW/Flood Modeller/HEC-RAS, SEEP/W, etc.
- Demonstrable experience with GIS software (i.e., QGIS, ArcGIS)
- Considerable experience with the use of AutoCAD
- Experience of developing conceptual models
- Proven experience of pumping test design and analysis
- Demonstrable experience of assessing groundwater flow, drawdown, and settlement
- Extensive experience in undertaking groundwater risk assessments
- Excellent working knowledge of hydraulic and hydrogeological principles
- Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal
- Highly-competent in numeracy, with a technical mindset
Desirable skills and experience for the role of Hydrologist include:
- A Master's Degree in a relevant discipline
- Possess Chartered Status with a relevant Professional Body (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, etc.), or actively working to attain this
- Hold a full, valid UK Driving Licence
- Have a keen understanding of the relevant UK legislation, regulations, and frameworks
