Overview

As an Associate Town Planner / Associate Partner, you will own a diverse portfolio of planning projects and grow key client relationships. You will provide strategic planning advice to landowners, developers and private clients, manage applications, and lead development strategies. This role offers a clear path to partnership within a well-established planning consultancy. You will work across projects, negotiate with authorities, and help shape client-focused outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a varied caseload from instruction to decision
  • Provide strategic planning advice to clients including landowners and developers
  • Prepare and lodge planning applications
  • Lead planning appraisals and shape development strategies
  • Draft planning statements, representations and appeal submissions
  • Negotiate with local planning authorities on behalf of clients
  • Attend client meetings and conduct site visits
  • Develop and sustain long-term client relationships

Key requirements

  • Experience in planning consultancy or equivalent
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload and client relationships
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
