Penguin Recruitment is working on behalf of a well-established and growing planning consultancy to recruit a Senior Planner for their Castle Donington office. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Planner to join a respected private consultancy with a strong regional presence, working on a diverse portfolio of planning projects across multiple development sectors. The role offers a high level of responsibility, autonomy, and the chance to play a key role in supporting clients through the planning process from early feasibility to determination and post-consent stages.
The Role
- Managing and delivering planning applications across a range of development types
- Preparing planning statements, appeals, and pre-application submissions
- Providing clear, commercially focused planning advice to clients
- Undertaking site appraisals and planning policy assessments
- Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams
- Supporting and mentoring junior planners as required
About You
To be successful in this Senior Planner role, you will ideally have:
- A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline
- MRTPI status or be working towards chartership
- Several years' experience within a consultancy or local authority environment
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and development management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to manage projects independently and work to deadlines
