This role is ideal for a Civil Engineer who enjoys technically led projects and wants exposure to high-quality residential, commercial and mixed-use developments across Scotland. You will join a growing Edinburgh team delivering drainage-led infrastructure, Flood Risk Assessments and planning support, working alongside planners, environmental specialists and fellow civil engineers on complex, sustainability-driven schemes.
As a Civil Engineer, you will be involved from early appraisal through to technical approval, developing your design capability while contributing to projects that have a genuine environmental and community impact.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver drainage and civil infrastructure designs from feasibility through to detailed design
- Prepare Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy reports for planning
- Design adoptable and private drainage systems in line with S104 and local authority standards
- Support infrastructure layouts, levels and SuDS design
- Liaise with planners, architects and environmental teams to achieve integrated solutions
- Produce drawings, calculations and reports using AutoCAD and drainage software
- Support Senior Engineers with technical delivery and project coordination
- Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
- UK consultancy experience in drainage and development infrastructure
- Experience of Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies
- Working knowledge of InfoDrainage or similar software
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, collaborative approach
