This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced planning professional to take on a senior leadership position within an ambitious and people-focused consultancy.
The successful candidate will play a key role in leading projects, developing client relationships, supporting the growth of the Cardiff office and contributing to the wider strategic direction of the business.
The Role
As Director of Planning, you will
- Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of planning projects across the UK.
- Provide high-level strategic and commercially focused planning advice to clients.
- Take responsibility for complex planning applications, appeals and strategic planning matters.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Lead business development activities and identify new opportunities.
- Help develop and grow the Cardiff planning team.
- Mentor, support and develop junior and senior members of the team.
- Play an active role in recruitment, team development and succession planning.
- Represent the business at industry events and networking opportunities.
- Contribute to the wider strategic growth and success of the consultancy.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider business.
About You
We are looking for an experienced planning professional who is
- MRTPI qualified with significant planning consultancy experience.
- Operating at Associate Director, Director or equivalent level.
- Experienced across a broad range of sectors and planning projects.
- Confident managing complex planning matters and providing strategic advice.
- Commercially astute with a strong track record of client management and business development.
- Able to develop and maintain long-term client relationships.
- An experienced people manager who enjoys mentoring and developing teams.
- A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
- Ambitious, proactive and keen to play a key role in the continued growth of a successful planning consultancy.
- A strong team player with the ability to contribute at both local office and national level.
