A respected Geoenvironmental and Geotechnical consultancy is seeking a Principal Engineering Geologist to join their growing team in Newquay, Cornwall.

Our client is a well-established consultancy operating across Cornwall, the South West and wider UK, known for technical excellence, a collaborative culture and long-term client relationships. As a Principal Engineering Geologist, you will join a friendly, high-performing team with:

As Principal Engineering Geologist, you will take a central technical and operational position, with responsibilities including:

  • Leading multiple geo-environmental and geotechnical projects of varying complexity
  • Preparing and reviewing fee proposals, technical scopes and quality-assured reports
  • Providing expert input across ground investigation, interpretation and design
  • Acting as a key technical contact for clients and design teams
  • Mentoring junior and mid-level staff and supporting senior operational decisions

To be considered for this Principal Engineering Geologist position, you must demonstrate:

  • Chartered status (CEng or CGeol) with extensive post-graduate consultancy experience
  • Strong foundation design, piled foundations and slope stability expertise
  • Competence in ground investigation interpretation (BS 5930, BS 10175, Eurocode 7)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Live in or near to Newquay
  • Full right to work in the UK
