We are working with a long-established, multi-disciplinary building services consultancy that is expanding its London acoustics team. The practice is known for delivering high-level acoustic, noise and vibration advice on major UK developments and complex refurbishments, working closely with architects and design teams from concept through to completion.
They are now seeking a Senior Acoustic Consultant to take a leading technical role within the team, supporting project delivery, mentoring consultants, and helping shape the continued growth of their London acoustics offering.
The role
This is a senior position combining hands-on technical delivery with team oversight and client engagement. You will:
- Lead building and architectural acoustics work across all project stages
- Manage and review environmental noise and vibration assessments
- Provide senior input into M&E acoustics, including plant noise and mitigation design
- Oversee noise monitoring programmes and reporting
- Review and approve technical outputs before client issue
- Work closely with internal MEP, sustainability and structural teams
- Support client relationships and contribute to repeat business
You will also mentor junior consultants, promote best practice, and help maintain high technical standards across the team.
About you
You will bring:
- Strong consultancy experience in building/environmental acoustics
- A proven track record delivering complex projects
- Excellent working knowledge of standards such as BS 4142, BS 8233, BB93 and ProPG
- Experience using CadnaA and/or SoundPLAN
- Confidence reviewing technical work and managing multiple priorities
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
Desirable experience
- IOA membership and progress toward Chartership
- Construction noise and vibration (including Section 61)
- Interest in business development and team growth
