An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Civil/Geotechnical Engineer to join a well-established mine waste team based in London. This role offers exposure to international projects and the chance to work within a small, dynamic, and highly technical team. If you have experience in geotechnical design and are looking to work on exciting large scale mining projects, we would love to hear from you. This position is ideal for a self-motivated engineer looking to develop their career within a specialist consultancy environment, with regular opportunities for overseas travel.
The successful Civil Engineer will be working alongside major global mining houses, providing review and audit services for mine waste facilities worldwide.
The Role
- You will work under the guidance of senior engineers and be involved in a range of mine waste and geotechnical projects, including:
- Embankment design and stability analysis
- Liner and deposition design
- Storage facility layout design
- Storage volume and rate of rise calculations
- Supporting the delivery of international mine waste projects
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Geology, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Soil Mechanics or similar (preferred)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in the design or operation of mine waste facilities
- Strong technical understanding of earthworks and slope stability
Software Experience (Desirable)
- Civils3D, Muck3D Slope/W, Slide or similar slope stability software
- Numerical modelling experience (RS2, FLAC, PLAXIS) highly advantageous
