Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established and highly respected planning consultancy in their search for a Senior Planner to join their Dublin based team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Planner to play a key role within a growing consultancy known for delivering high-quality planning advice across Ireland. The role offers exposure to a wide range of complex and strategic planning projects across multiple sectors, working with both public and private sector clients.
The Role
As a Senior Planner, you will take responsibility for managing planning projects from inception through to determination, providing strategic planning advice and supporting junior members of the team. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing planning applications and appeals of varying scale and complexity
- Preparing planning appraisals, strategy reports and supporting documentation
- Liaising with local authorities, statutory consultees and key stakeholders
- Contributing to development plan submissions and policy representations
- Mentoring and supporting junior planners
- Assisting with client relationship management and business development
About You
To be successful as a Senior Planner, you will ideally have:
- A degree or postgraduate qualification accredited by RTPI or IPI
- Several years’ professional planning experience, ideally within consultancy
- Strong knowledge of the Irish planning system
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence managing projects and advising clients
- A proactive, organised and commercially aware approach
