A leading engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join their growing team in Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to develop their technical skills across a range of exciting geotechnical projects, working alongside experienced engineers and specialists.

The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of ground investigation, geotechnical design and reporting projects across residential, commercial and infrastructure sectors. You will gain hands‑on experience both in the office and on site, developing your understanding of ground conditions, soil behaviour and engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities:
  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of ground investigations
  • Logging soils and rocks in accordance with industry standards
  • Preparing factual and interpretative ground investigation reports
  • Supporting geotechnical assessments and calculations
  • Carrying out site visits and monitoring works
  • Assisting senior engineers with geotechnical design solutions
  • Interpreting site investigation data and laboratory test results
  • Working with multidisciplinary teams on a range of projects
Requirements:
  • BSc or MSc degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering or a related subject
  • A strong academic background with an interest in geotechnical engineering
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • A willingness to work both in the office and on site
  • Full UK driving licence (or working towards one) would be advantageous
