A leading architecture and property consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Design Team Leader to oversee and develop its established design team based near Bury St Edmunds. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior design professional to take ownership of a busy and growing team, supporting the delivery of a wide range of architectural and rural development projects across the UK. Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage and mentor a design team
  • Oversee workload planning and resource allocation across the department
  • Ensure projects are delivered to agreed timescales and quality standards
  • Support and develop team performance through regular coaching and guidance
  • Work closely with planning and property teams across the business
  • Maintain high technical and design standards across all projects
  • Support recruitment, onboarding and team development initiatives
  • Drive continuous improvement within processes and project delivery
  • Act as a senior point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders
Experience Required
  • Degree in Architectural Technology or an ARB registered Architect
  • Previous experience managing a design or architectural team
  • Strong background within architectural design, planning or consultancy environments
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Experience within rural, residential, agricultural or commercial projects would be advantageous
  • Proficient understanding of design processes, planning and project delivery
  • Commercially aware with a proactive and organised approach
