The Role of Principal Designer:
As Principal Designer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the CDM Regulations 2015 throughout the design process. Working closely with clients, designers, and contractors, you will help identify, eliminate, and manage health and safety risks from concept through to project completion.
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertaking the duties of Principal Designer in accordance with CDM Regulations 2015.
- Coordinating design risk management across multidisciplinary teams.
- Reviewing and challenging design information to eliminate or reduce foreseeable risks.
- Facilitating design risk workshops and providing CDM advice to project teams.
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure compliance and best practice.

About You:
You will have:
- Previous experience working as a Principal Designer within the construction or infrastructure sector.
- A sound understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 and current health and safety legislation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Relevant health and safety qualifications (such as NEBOSH Construction or equivalent), with membership of a recognised professional body being desirable.
