A growing environmental consultancy is looking to appoint a Graduate Air Quality Consultant to join its established team in Brighton. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate looking to start their career in air quality consulting, with structured training and real project exposure from day one in Brighton.
The team based in Brighton delivers air quality support across a wide range of planning, development and infrastructure schemes, with particular expertise in assessing road traffic emissions. You will gain experience across varied project types while receiving mentoring to support your development.
The Role (Brighton-based)
Working from Brighton (with hybrid flexibility) and attending site visits when needed, you will support the delivery of air quality assessments from initial inputs through to reporting. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with air quality assessments for planning and development projects
- Supporting air dispersion modelling, particularly for road traffic emissions
- Helping produce high-quality technical reports and supporting documentation
- Interpreting monitoring/modelling results and communicating findings clearly
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and clients across multiple projects
Hybrid working is offered, with at least one day per week in the Brighton office.
About You
Essential criteria:
- A degree in Environmental Science, Geography, Air Quality, or a similar subject
- A genuine interest in building a career in air quality consultancy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new tools and methods
- Good attention to detail and confidence working with data
Desirable (not essential):
- Familiarity with air quality monitoring, modelling, or GIS
- Understanding of air quality within the UK planning process
