A well-regarded independent planning consultancy in Dorset is looking to appoint a Graduate Town Planner to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career planner to develop their experience across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial and rural planning projects within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with experienced planning professionals and gain exposure to the full planning process, from preparing applications and planning appraisals through to client liaison and project delivery.

The Role

  • Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications
  • Undertaking planning policy research and site appraisals
  • Supporting senior planners on a range of development projects
  • Preparing reports, statements and appeal documentation
  • Liaising with local authorities, clients and external consultants
  • Attending client meetings and site visits across the region

About You

  • Degree qualified in Town Planning or a related discipline
  • RTPI accredited qualification preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organised, proactive and eager to learn
  • A genuine interest in planning and development
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
