A specialist geotechnical consultancy based in Birmingham is looking to expand its close-knit technical team with the appointment of a Geotechnical Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, highly regarded consultancy where you will gain hands-on exposure to projects from initial site investigation through to detailed geotechnical design and reporting.

The Role

  • Assisting with and supervising ground investigations
  • Soil and rock logging to current industry standards
  • Preparing factual and interpretative geotechnical reports
  • Undertaking geotechnical analysis including foundations, retaining walls and slope stability
  • Liaising directly with clients, contractors and subcontractors
  • Supporting project delivery from tender stage through to completion
  • Carrying out site visits and overseeing drilling operations

Requirements

  • Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline
  • Previous consultancy or ground investigation experience preferred
  • Understanding of geotechnical principles and site investigation techniques
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Motivated individual looking to progress within a specialist consultancy environment
  • Full UK driving licence
