Technical Support Engineer - Bedford

Our client is looking to recruit a talented Technical Support Engineer to join their growing specialist engineering team in Bedford. Working within the environmental monitoring and instrumentation sector, you'll provide expert support on industry-leading noise, vibration and air quality monitoring systems, helping customers get the very best from cutting‑edge technology.

About You

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Electronics, Electrical, Audio, Acoustical Engineering or Instrumentation, or relevant technical experience.
  • Ideally 2+ years' experience in technical support, field service or a similar engineering role.
  • Experience with scientific, industrial or electronic instrumentation is preferred.
  • Strong fault‑finding skills across hardware and software.
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer‑focused approach.
  • Well organised, proactive and eager to develop your technical expertise.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing first and second‑line technical support via phone, email and remote access.
  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting and commissioning specialist monitoring equipment and software.
  • Assisting customers with installation, calibration, firmware updates and ongoing technical support.
  • Preparing equipment for dispatch, servicing, repairs and hire.
  • Delivering customer training and producing technical documentation.
  • Supporting demonstrations, site visits and maintaining accurate service records.
