I am recruiting for a Civil Engineer to join a growing consultancy in Bedford as they expand their civil engineering team. This is a strong opportunity for a Civil Engineer looking to build technical capability, gain wider project exposure and take on more responsibility within a supportive environment.
This Civil Engineer role focuses on development infrastructure projects ranging from small private schemes through to major national developments. As a Civil Engineer, you will support planning submissions, detailed design packages and technical approvals, working closely with clients, consultants and local authorities. You will stay hands-on with design while benefiting from clear support and mentoring from senior engineers.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver drainage, highways and earthworks designs using Flow or MicroDrainage and PDS or similar software
- Produce drawings and design documents using AutoCAD or MicroStation
- Prepare planning submission packs for outline, detailed and full applications
- Deliver S38, S278 and S104 technical submissions through to approval
- Support groundworks packages for tender and construction
- Liaise with clients, design teams and local authority officers
- Assist with managing small project teams and coordinating technicians
- Degree qualified Civil Engineer or equivalent practical experience
- Strong understanding of UK drainage, highways and flood risk standards
- Confident using Flow or MicroDrainage, PDS, AutoCAD or MicroStation
- Experience delivering S38, S278 and S104 submissions
- Clear communicator with a proactive and organised approach
This Civil Engineer position offers project variety, hybrid working and long term progression. The salary on offer is £40,000 - £48,000 plus benefits, including profit share bonuses, pension, life assurance, healthcare after qualifying service, CPD support and flexible working.
