A well-established architectural practice based in North Devon is seeking an experienced Architect to join its collaborative and expanding team. The practice is recognised for delivering high-quality residential and commercial architecture across rural and countryside locations throughout the South West. Its portfolio includes bespoke homes, conversions, commercial developments, and heritage and conservation projects, all driven by a strong commitment to context-sensitive, landscape-led design.

Daily Duties
- Leading and supporting projects from concept through to completion
- Preparing and submitting planning applications, including statements and supporting documentation, with administrative support
- Managing the planning process and liaising with local authorities
- Producing high-quality design proposals and technical drawings
- Undertaking site visits across North Devon and the wider South West
- Delivering sustainable, context-sensitive rural architecture
Ideal Candidate
- Fully qualified Architect with proven UK practice experience
- Strong planning knowledge, including hands-on experience preparing and managing planning applications
- Background in rural, residential, or commercial projects
- Excellent design, technical, and presentation skills
- Proficient in Revit (with D5 Render, SketchUp, and similar tools advantageous)
- Confident communicator with a collaborative and proactive approach
- Passionate about rural architecture and sympathetic, landscape-led design
- Willing to support and mentor junior team members
