Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established UKAS-accredited asbestos consultancy in their search for a Junior Asbestos Analyst to join their growing team based in Surrey, covering projects across London and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for a Junior Asbestos Analyst looking to develop their career within a respected consultancy. The role is ideally suited to someone based in Surrey who is happy commuting into London, offering exposure to a wide range of commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and public sector projects while working alongside experienced analysts.
THE ROLE
As a Junior Asbestos Analyst, you will support the delivery of asbestos analytical services across London and the South East, receiving ongoing mentoring and technical guidance from experienced members of the team. This role offers excellent hands-on experience and a structured development pathway, making it ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career within the asbestos industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting with air monitoring and asbestos analytical duties in accordance with HSG248
- Supporting four-stage clearances, reassurance testing, leak testing, and personal air monitoring
- Producing accurate site notes and assisting with analytical reports
- Working across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and public sector properties
- Liaising professionally with clients, contractors, and colleagues on site
- Maintaining compliance with current asbestos legislation, HSE guidance, and UKAS procedures
- Developing technical knowledge through ongoing training and practical experience
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- BOHS P403 and P404 qualifications (or working towards them) are desirable
- Previous experience within the asbestos industry or a strong interest in developing an analytical career
- Willingness to commute into London from Surrey
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Professional, reliable, and eager to learn
- Positive attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality work
