Overview
My client, a market leading multidisciplinary Engineering and Environmental Consultancy, is searching for an Assistant Flood Risk Consultant to join their innovative Water team based in Swansea.
It is essential that applicants have a strong BSc and/or MSc in a related discipline (Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Environmental Management or River Basin Dynamics) and have experience completing Flood Risk Assessments, hydrological assessments and Hydraulic Modelling using Tuflow or flood modeller.
Applicants are also required to have an awareness of coding (using python and R) and GIS Mapping using ArcGIS.
It is also beneficial for applicants to reside locally to work from the office on a hybrid basis.
Responsibilities
- As an Assistant Flood Risk Consultant, you will be expected to complete flood risk, flood and coastal erosion risk management, natural flood management, integrated catchment management and water resources for Public and Private Sector Clients in the UK and overseas.
- Flood Risk Assessments.
- Surface Water Management Plans.
- Hydraulic Modelling and model build using Tuflow and flood modeller.
- 1D and 2D models for rivers, surface water and sewers
- Drainage Strategies.
- Natural Flood Management and Nutrient Neutrality Assessments.
- Calculations, Reports and Surveys.
- Frequent liaison with Private Sector Clients, Contractors and Business Associates.
