A well-established ground engineering consultancy based in Watford is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Project Manager to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of technically challenging projects across the commercial, residential, infrastructure and industrial sectors while progressing within a supportive and expanding consultancy.
The successful candidate will manage projects from tender stage through to completion, overseeing site investigations, technical reporting, client liaison and project delivery. This role would suit an experienced Geotechnical Engineer, Engineering Geologist or Geo-Environmental Consultant looking to move into a more senior project management position.
The Role
- Managing a range of geotechnical and ground investigation projects across the UK
- Overseeing site investigations, drilling programmes and subcontractors
- Reviewing factual and interpretative geotechnical reports
- Managing project budgets, timescales and resource allocation
- Liaising directly with clients, contractors and regulatory bodies
- Mentoring junior engineers and supporting technical development
- Assisting with tendering, quotations and business development activities
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high technical standard
Requirements
- Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline
- Strong background within a geotechnical or geo-environmental consultancy
- Experience managing ground investigations and technical reporting
- Knowledge of foundation design, slope stability or earthworks desirable
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
