Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a respected planning consultancy in their search for an Associate Town Planner to join their growing team in Dorset. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Associate Town Planner to take on a senior role within a dynamic consultancy, working across a diverse portfolio of projects including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The successful candidate will play a key role in project delivery, client management, and supporting the ongoing growth of the business.
As an Associate Town Planner, you will lead and oversee a range of planning projects from early-stage strategy through to submission and determination. You will manage client relationships, provide strategic planning advice, and support junior team members, while contributing to business development and helping to drive the success of the team.
- Leading and managing planning applications and projects
- Providing high-level strategic planning advice to clients
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders
- Preparing and reviewing planning reports and documentation
- Managing and mentoring junior team members
- Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key consultees
- Supporting business development and identifying new opportunities
- Attending meetings, site visits, and consultations
Requirements:
- RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline
- MRTPI qualified
- Significant experience within a planning consultancy environment
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Excellent communication and client-facing abilities
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to business development
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
