Architectural Technician

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Architectural Technician to join an established and highly regarded architectural practice in Truro.

Working across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial and mixed-use projects, you will play a key role in developing detailed technical information and supporting projects through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and produce accurate technical drawings and construction information across a range of project types and RIBA work stages.
  • Prepare planning, Building Regulations and detailed construction drawing packages.
  • Produce technical details, specifications and project documentation.
  • Assist with the development and coordination of construction information, ensuring drawings are accurate, buildable and compliant.
  • Coordinate architectural information with structural engineers, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.
  • Assist with resolving technical design and construction issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support project teams with the preparation of tender and construction information.
  • Attend project meetings, site visits and inspections as required.
  • Review and coordinate drawings and technical information to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Ensure work is delivered on programme and in accordance with current Building Regulations, relevant standards and industry best practice.
  • Maintain a high standard of technical output while contributing to the overall quality and efficiency of project delivery.

About You

  • Qualified or experienced Architectural Technician, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Previous experience working within a UK architectural practice.
  • Strong technical drawing and detailing skills, with a good understanding of construction methods and buildability.
  • Proficient in Revit, Auto CAD and other industry-standard architectural software.
  • Good working knowledge of UK Building Regulations, planning requirements and construction standards.
  • Experience producing detailed drawing packages from planning through to construction stages.
  • Understanding of technical coordination and working with consultants and contractors.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a methodical and organised approach to project delivery.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients and external consultants.
  • Proactive, reliable and keen to continue developing your technical knowledge and professional experience.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative project team.
