Town Planner – Renewable Energy

Job Title: Town Planner

Location: Bristol

Salary: £32,000 – £38,000 per annum, DOE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Town Planner to join a leading consultancy specialising in energy and renewables planning, based in Bristol. The company is looking for a motivated and experienced individual to join their growing energy and renewables team. The role offers hybrid working, providing flexibility to work from both the office and remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the preparation and submission of planning applications for energy and renewables projects
2. Provide expert planning advice on energy sector developments, including wind, solar, and energy storage projects
3. Conduct research and assessments of planning policies and regulations related to energy and renewable projects
4. Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and senior team members to deliver planning solutions
5. Manage projects through all stages, from feasibility to post-consent

Key Requirements:

1. RTPI-accredited degree in Town Planning or related field
2. Professional experience in private consultancy, preferably within the energy and renewables sector
3. Must have started the APC and be actively pursuing chartership
4. Strong understanding of planning law, energy policies, and renewable energy projects
5. Excellent communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills
6. A proactive and collaborative approach to work
