A leading water resources and hydrogeology consultancy is seeking an Associate Hydrogeologist to lead its hydrogeology and flood risk team following continued business growth and integration into a wider environmental group. As an Associate Hydrogeologist, you will manage a team of hydrogeologists and flood risk consultants while overseeing the successful delivery of groundwater, water resources and flood risk projects across the UK.
The Associate Hydrogeologist will act as a technical authority across the business, supporting project delivery, team development and client management while helping shape future growth strategy. This role suits someone who enjoys leadership, mentoring and providing high-level technical advice within a collaborative consultancy environment.
Key responsibilities- Lead hydrogeology and flood risk teams across project delivery
- Oversee workload planning, financial performance and resource management
- Review and approve technical reports, models and assessments
- Manage complex groundwater, water resources and flood risk projects
- Prepare and review fee proposals, budgets and scopes of work
- Build strong client, stakeholder and regulator relationships
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level staff
- Support business growth, innovation and cross-disciplinary collaboration
- Degree in Geology or related discipline
- MSc in Hydrogeology or equivalent experience desirable
- Strong hydrogeology, groundwater or water resources background
- Leadership and team management experience
- Strong understanding of UK regulatory frameworks and guidance
- Excellent communication, report writing and project management skills
- Experience within a consultancy environment desirable
