Job Description

Job Title: Senior Town Planner

Ref: BM303

Location: Leeds

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing and dynamic Town Planning Consultancy who provides proactive and sustainable solutions to the residential sector. They are on the lookout for an experienced Senior Town Planner to hit the ground running for their Leeds office.

Duties for the Senior Town Planner role include:

  • Managing planning projects from inception through to determination and delivery
  • Preparing and coordinating planning applications, statements and supporting documentation
  • Providing strategic planning advice to clients and project teams
  • Undertaking planning appraisals and assessing development opportunities and constraints
  • Leading and contributing to pre-application discussions with Local Planning Authorities
  • Monitoring planning policy and assessing its implications for development proposals

Requirements for the Senior Town Planner role include:

  • A relevant degree and/or professional qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline
  • MRTPI accreditation or a clear route towards chartership would be advantageous
  • Strong experience within a planning consultancy, developer or related environment
  • Experience of working on residential development projects
  • Good knowledge of the UK planning system and current planning policy
  • Experience preparing or coordinating planning applications and supporting documents
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The confidence to engage with clients, consultants and Local Planning Authorities
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills
