We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Sports Design Technician to play a pivotal role in the design and delivery of diverse sports projects, ranging from community facilities to world-class, elite competition venues across multiple sporting sectors. In this senior position, you will take ownership of technical design packages, supporting the successful coordination and delivery of projects from concept through to construction.
Working closely with project leads, consultants, and clients, you will provide technical expertise while offering guidance and informal mentoring to junior team members. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality, accurate, and innovative design solutions. You will also contribute to the development of design strategies, tackle complex technical challenges, and help drive best practice in sports facility design.

Key Responsibilities of this Sports Design Technician role:- Lead the technical design and development of sports facilities across all levels, from grassroots to elite venues.
- Produce, review, and coordinate detailed drawing packages, including plans, sections, details, and technical schedules.
- Collaborate with project leads, engineers, architects, and external consultants to ensure designs meet project requirements and client expectations.
- Manage and support BIM workflows, including model coordination, information exchange, and quality control using Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
- Take responsibility for the accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery of design outputs in line with agreed programmes and quality standards.
- Provide Technical Support and mentor junior Technicians.
To be considered for this Sports Design Technician role you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, civil engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience in sports surface design.
- Minimum 4-6 years professional experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit on live projects.
- Proven experience coordinating BIM models and documentation using Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
- Strong technical design capability with experience delivering complex or multi-disciplinary sports projects.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Confident communicator, comfortable coordinating with consultants, contractors, and clients.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality assurance in design outputs.
- Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to identify, assess and resolve technical design challenges.
- Passion for sport and a strong interest in designing facilities from grassroots through to elite-level performance environments.
