A market-leading environmental consultancy is looking to appoint a Principal Air Quality Consultant to join its UK team on a fully remote basis. This senior role suits an experienced air quality specialist with strong EIA credentials who can lead major schemes, shape technical delivery, and support growth activity across a broad portfolio of nationally significant projects.
The role
You will take ownership of EIA air quality workstreams, steer dispersion modelling and compliance projects, and act as a key point of contact for clients and planning bodies. You will provide technical leadership to distributed teams, uphold quality standards, and contribute to proposals and business development.

- £50,000-£65,000 DOE + annual bonus
- Fully remote anywhere in the UK, with travel to sites when needed

Key responsibilities
- Lead delivery of air quality assessments and EIA chapters
- Manage dispersion modelling (ADMS/AERMOD) and impact assessments
- QA / peer-review technical outputs
- Contribute to bids and proposals
- Mentor and develop junior consultants in remote teams
- Represent the business with clients, developers & regulators
About you
- 6+ years in air quality consultancy or regulation
- Track record producing EIA air quality chapters for planning
- Competent with ADMS, AERMOD & IAQM/EPUK guidance
- Degree in environmental science/chemistry/geography or similar
- Chartered (CEnv/IAQM) or working towards (advantageous)
- Strong communicator, organiser and team leader
- Full UK driving licence
