An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Town Planner to join a highly respected and growing planning consultancy based in Devon. We are seeking a commercially minded and motivated planner who is looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across residential, commercial, rural and mixed-use developments throughout the South West and beyond.
The OpportunityYou will join an established and collaborative planning team, taking a lead role in managing projects, preparing and submitting planning applications, and providing strategic planning advice to a varied client base. The role offers genuine autonomy, exposure to high-quality work, and a clear pathway for professional development.
Key Responsibilities- Managing a range of planning projects from inception through to determination
- Preparing planning appraisals, statements and appeals
- Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders and clients
- Providing strategic planning advice across a variety of sectors
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members where appropriate
- Attending client meetings, site visits and public consultations
- MRTPI qualified (or working towards chartership with significant experience)
- Previous experience within a planning consultancy or local authority environment
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system
- Excellent written communication and report writing skills
- Ability to manage workloads independently and build strong client relationships
- Full UK driving licence preferred
