An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Associate Town Planner to join a respected and growing planning and development consultancy based in Nottingham. The Role

As an Associate Town Planner, you will play a key role in managing planning projects from inception through to determination, while supporting the continued growth of the business. You will work closely with clients, local authorities, consultants, and stakeholders, providing strategic planning advice and leading on a varied project portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a diverse caseload of planning applications and appeals
  • Providing strategic planning advice to clients
  • Preparing planning appraisals, statements, and supporting documents
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Supporting junior team members and contributing to team development
  • Attending client meetings, committee meetings, and stakeholder consultations

About You

The successful candidate is likely to have:

  • MRTPI chartered status
  • Experience within either consultancy or local authority planning
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven project management and client-facing experience
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • A full UK driving licence
