The Role

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join a Norwich office on a full‑time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer looking to take on a key technical and leadership role within a growing and collaborative team. You will be responsible for leading structural design projects from concept through to completion across a broad range of building and infrastructure schemes. The Senior Structural Engineer will oversee structural analysis, calculations, and detailed design while ensuring solutions are practical, efficient, and aligned with client objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead structural design projects and produce high‑quality calculations, reports, and drawings.
  • Review, check, and support the work of engineers and technicians.
  • Coordinate effectively with clients, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Manage project budgets, resources, and programme requirements.
  • Undertake site inspections and provide technical support during construction.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and industry best practice.

About You

We are looking for a proactive and technically capable Senior Structural Engineer with strong communication skills and the confidence to lead projects and support team development.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrable experience delivering and leading structural engineering projects.
  • Strong structural analysis and design capabilities with a sound understanding of relevant codes and standards.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Proficiency in structural design software such as SCIA, MasterSeries, TEDDS, CADS, or similar industry‑standard packages.
  • Degree qualified in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or actively progressing towards chartership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and managing multiple project deadlines.

Desirable

  • Appreciation of the interface between structural and civil engineering disciplines.
  • Knowledge of UK Building Regulations, CDM Regulations, the Building Safety Act, and sustainable design principles.
