We are looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a well-established engineering consultancy based in Crawley, offering a primarily remote working setup with occasional travel to site and office meetings. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced geotechnical professional seeking flexibility while continuing to work on a diverse range of residential, commercial, rail, and infrastructure projects across the UK.

The successful Senior Geotechnical Engineer will take a leading role in project delivery, providing technical expertise on geotechnical design, ground investigations and reporting while supporting junior team members remotely and maintaining strong client relationships.

The successful Senior Geotechnical Engineer will:

  • Hold a degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related subject
  • Have strong UK consultancy experience within geotechnics
  • Be experienced in managing and interpreting ground investigations
  • Have a solid understanding of foundation design, slope stability, and earthworks
  • Be confident producing factual and interpretative geotechnical reports
  • Be comfortable working independently within a remote environment
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Ideally be chartered or working towards chartership

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing geotechnical projects from inception through to completion
  • Producing detailed geotechnical assessments and recommendations
  • Reviewing site investigation data and laboratory results
  • Mentoring junior engineers and reviewing technical work
  • Liaising directly with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Supporting business development and project tenders
