An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a specialist engineering business working on complex offshore energy and subsea cable projects.
This position offers the chance to play a key role in cable design and Cable Burial Risk Assessment (CBRA), supporting the development of reliable, cost-effective solutions across the offshore renewables sector.
The Role
Based in Newcastle, the Senior Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for delivering technical expertise across a range of subsea cable engineering projects, including:
- Leading and undertaking Cable Burial Risk Assessments (CBRA).
- Supporting subsea cable route engineering, burial assessments and trenching design.
- Evaluating seabed conditions, soil properties and geotechnical risks.
- Developing recommendations to optimise cable installation, burial depth and asset protection.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver practical, technically robust solutions.
About You
You’ll have a strong background in geotechnical engineering, ideally with experience in subsea cables, offshore projects and CBRA. Strong analytical skills, technical report writing and the ability to communicate complex engineering concepts are essential. Hold a full UK Driving Licence and full right to work in the UK.
