The Role

You'll play a key role in managing complex development projects from inception through to completion, typically ranging from £250k to £25m in value. Working closely with in-house design teams, external architects, and consultants, you'll oversee all aspects of the planning process - from pre-application to post-decision. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead high-profile projects, provide strategic planning advice to clients, and make a tangible impact on developments that shape communities nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the planning process for multiple large-scale projects
  • Prepare, review, and sign off on planning reports and applications
  • Advise clients on planning strategies, policies, and regulations
  • Represent the consultancy at planning committees, public consultations, and stakeholder meetings
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams and external consultants
  • Monitor and report on application progress, appeals, and compliance

About You

  • Degree in Geography, Urban Planning, or related field (2:1 or above)
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in private sector planning (consultancy or developer)
  • Chartered RTPI membership or working towards it
  • Strong project management and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
