Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a highly regarded planning consultancy in their search for a Town Planner to join their London team. This is an exciting opportunity for a Town Planner to join a respected consultancy working across a diverse portfolio of high-profile residential, commercial, mixed-use, and regeneration projects. The successful candidate will gain strong client exposure and the opportunity to further develop within a collaborative and fast-paced planning environment.
THE ROLE
As a Town Planner, you will be involved in delivering planning projects from initial appraisal through to submission and determination. You will manage your own schemes while supporting senior colleagues on more complex developments, continuing to build your expertise as a Town Planner within a dynamic consultancy environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing planning applications and appeals
- Preparing high-quality planning reports and supporting documentation
- Undertaking site appraisals and feasibility assessments
- Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders
- Attending client meetings, site visits, and consultations
- Supporting senior team members on complex planning projects
- Assisting with project coordination and delivery
- Contributing to business development and networking activities
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline
- Ideally MRTPI qualified or working towards Chartership
- Minimum of 2 years’ planning experience
- Experience within a planning consultancy or similar environment
- Strong understanding of the UK planning system
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and project management abilities
- A proactive and commercially aware approach
